WHAT IS A SMALL GROUP?
Small Groups are gatherings of 6-12 people who meet together on a regular basis for Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and encouraging one another in their walk with the Lord.
WHY SMALL GROUPS?
Because following Christ requires having close relationships with other Christians. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Small Groups focus on living out the principles of this verse—they come together around the Word of God to learn the rich message of scripture and help one another apply it.
THE BENEFITS OF SMALL GROUPS:
Small Groups help individuals and couples:
- Understand and apply the scriptures
- Become connected with other people in the church family
- Enjoy the blessings of biblical fellowship with other believers
- Practice using spiritual their gifts
WHEN AND WHERE DO SMALL GROUPS MEET?
Usually once or twice a month throughout the year—some groups take a summer recess. Most groups meet in homes—usually in just one person’s home, though some rotate whose home they meet in.
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE IN A SMALL GROUP?
Consistent participation in their group. Each group makes an agreement regarding their expectations—such as study material, confidentiality, etc. You will learn the specifics when you first begin meeting with your group.
